What operators actually ask.

MissionSmith plans and validates. It does not fly the aircraft or issue authorization. Here is how that works in practice.

What is MissionSmith?

MissionSmith is Kaelor Labs’ AI agent for drone operations. You point to a location, describe what the drone must do, and it turns that intent into a complete, inspectable mission on a photorealistic 3D map — routes, clearances, and readiness gates included. You approve before anyone flies.

Can MissionSmith fly my drone automatically?

No. MissionSmith plans and validates. It does not take off, command the aircraft in the field, or replace the remote-pilot-in-command. AI proposes. Engineering checks. Humans decide.

How does the AI actually build a mission?

You set the area, home, and aircraft, then describe the objective. The agent inspects the 3D environment, proposes geometry-aware routes, and runs deterministic checks (geofence, altitude, clearance). You inspect the result on the map and can revise it in conversation.

How does MissionSmith validate AI-generated routes?

Validation is independent of the language model. Segments are summarized as OK, TIGHT, or BLOCKED against geofence, altitude, and obstacle clearance. Unresolved readiness gates stay visible. The operator still accepts the plan.

Does MissionSmith replace NAV Drone, FAA authorization, or similar tools?

No. It can surface location-specific operating requirements, airspace context, and unresolved authorization gates with sources. It does not issue regulatory authorization or determine legal flight status for you.

What happens if the 3D map is missing an obstacle?

Tell the copilot what the field sees — a crane, a line that isn’t in the map, a new deck. Operator-supplied site detail is part of the loop. MissionSmith revises the trajectory, re-runs checks, and you compare plans before accepting.

Which drones does MissionSmith support?

Planning uses the aircraft and payload you configure. Organizations can bring their own airframe specs — tell us what you fly during early access. Export paths depend on the aircraft.

Can MissionSmith plan beyond visual line of sight?

It can help you assemble a reviewable plan and surface authorization gates. BVLOS is a regulatory and operational decision for the operator, not something MissionSmith authorizes.

Do I need special hardware to use it?

No. Planning and validation run in the browser. A modern laptop and internet connection are enough for Mission Control.

Is this for simulation or real flights?

The product is planning- and validation-first. A drone-pilot training academy is evaluating MissionSmith-generated plans in real flights. Simulation and live-operation integrations continue to expand and are labeled as such.

Does MissionSmith store flight or customer site data?

Sessions are authenticated. Mission and session data are stored for your workspace so you can resume planning. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Who is responsible for approving the mission?

The operator. Readiness gates and unresolved items stay visible until a human accepts the plan. Kaelor Labs does not assume remote-pilot or legal flight responsibility.
